The Art Parts Project: Integrating Art with Living Spaces
METAL: MARK FESSLER
Ceramic Glass Metal Wood Mixed Media
Mark Fessler

Although primarily a sculptor, for the past ten years MARK FESSLER has operated a business designing and fabricating furnishings and architectural components as well as reproductions of existing details, prototype development, mold work and specialty finishes. Projects include both one of a kind and limited productions. Mark has worked frequently in conjunction with other artists, architects, designers and clients. Materials incorporated vary and include, cast, forged and fabricated metals; carved and fabricated wood; carved stone; cast glass; formed plastics and concrete. In evolving designs, which frequently combine disparate materials, techniques and ideas, particular consideration is necessarily given to joining systems and detailing. Once dissimilarity of materials is no longer an impedence, the range of what can be utilized is open. This is both the challenge and enjoyment of mixed materials, providing contrasts in density, surface, intent and historical use.
