GLASS: NATALIE HAHN
Ceramic Glass Metal Wood Mixed Media
Natalie Hahn

Natalie Hahn, founder of Red Tail Glass Works has been working in glass for over twenty years. Her extensive portfolio includes a wide variety
of commission works and architectural pieces in stained and fused glass. Whether it involves manipulating in a kiln or piecing together with lead, her work starts with a flat sheet of glass that culminates an idea into an art piece that may be decorative or functional, always beautiful.

There is virtually no limit to what Natalie can create with her glass; from stained or fused glass windows, cabinet doors, room dividers and fire screens to mirrors, accent pieces, door knobs and drawer pulls she loves to blur the line between decorative and functional. The last few
years she has expanded her works collaborating with other artists combining her fused glass with steel and wood sculpture.

Of her work Natalie remarks, "Working with glass comes from a primal source for me, I love the way that glass allows me to express myself. It's like creating from a palette of light." She added, "I admit I have more fun cooking glass in the kiln than with food in the kitchen."

Natalie lives and creates in Freeland, Washington.
