Jeff Holtby

Jeff Holtby of Arcane Metal Arts is an artist blacksmith specializing in custom architectural ironwork. Samples of his finely handcrafted gates, carriage lamps, fences, railings, grills, furniture, arbors, pot racks, fireplace screens/tools, hardware, lighting, bells and candleholders can be found in public and private spaces throughout the Northwest.

Jeff uses traditional forging methods to work in a variety of styles. In addition to steel, he utilizes brass, copper, stainless, and wrought iron. He launched his smithing business in 1997 after twenty-five years of experience in the field of metals. He’s demonstrated for Northwest Blacksmith Association conferences and his work has been featured in Hot Iron News and Seattle Homes and Lifestyles.

Balcksmithing carries with it a community heritage and through it Jeff produces handmade work that provides a warm and welcoming environment. He is able to create a personal and friendly touch, a sense of the hand-done, that is enduring.
